NASA’s Curiosity rover has discovered an oddly shaped rock on Mars that looks a lot like the delta-shaped Starfleet logo from the Star Trek series.
The familiar symbol was found using the left navigation camera on January 9. The agency published the image as it was received without any processing.
The black-and-white footage is shot on a flat block of dark rock, making the lighter stone stand out against the Martian sand.
This is not the first funny photo from the Red Planet. Before that, the rover encountered a “donut”, “avocado” and even a “bear”.
